The cage can be built on either the camera's left or right side. It includes a top plate and baseplate plate, with foldable arms for both the top and bottom plates, as well as a cold shoe for mounting accessories. Its open, modular design allows all components to be adjustable.The top plate provides an adapter that fits into the camera's hot shoe to secure your camera and 1/4"-20 threaded holes for attachments of accessories.The baseplate features a 1/4"-20 low profile screw to secure your camera and rubber pads to protect the base of your camera while mounted. It also features through-holes, 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points for attaching to the tripod or rig.There are two different side rods, one is 4.92", the other is 5.7". This allows you to mount a variety of cameras of different heights, making this cage extremely versatile. The rachet locking levers allow you to adjust the height to fit your camera.
